Situation Around KHTML And WebKit Finally settled
Just wanted to point out that this is likely due to webkit issue 78412 finally being resolved. Essentially it would not account for borders, and I believe the padding as well, when calculating the width of tables with a fixed layout.
Situation around KHTML and WebKit finally settled
The -khtml-opacity setting was for older versions of the webkit rendering engine, and was necessary in order to get older versions of Safari to work. This proprietary property is now obsolete and is no longer needed unless you know that you have a significant amount of web traffic coming from visitors using Safari 1.x., which is highly unlikely.
In our example, -moz-border-radius is for Firefox, -webkit-border-radius is for Chrome/Safari and -khtml-border-radius is for older Konquerer browsers. Finally, the plain, old border-radius is future-proofing for whenever browsers properly support this attribute.

When I ran my first applications like the image-viewer"eye-of-gnome", some appeared on the desktop and thencore-dumped. The core file said the last function called was in GTK,in the libgtk-x11 library. I had had to upgrade my GTK when buildinggnome-panel. I had chosen the latest version 2.15.2. This is probablya development releases too. When I switched back to my year-old GTK,everything was fine. I finally settled for the stable versionrecommended by GARNOME. It took me a few days to sort this out!
