Hailing from New Orleans, the $uicideboy$, comprised of cousins $lick and Ruby Da Cherry, may come from the home of powerhouses like Cash Money and No Limit and credit their predecessors as early influences, however, make no mistake about, they have no interest in mimicking their city's musical forefathers and have a sound and style wholly unique of their own.
Coming together as a duo in 2013, the $uicideboy$ gradually grew traction, particularly on SoundCloud, with projects like Eternal Grey, Radical $uicide and Grey Sheep 1 & 2 all amassing millions of plays and creating a demand for their music. Over the summer, they touched road overseas on their Global Epidemic Tour and continued to build their brand as one of the premier acts in the SoundCloud rap scene. With their profile higher than ever, it only looks to reach higher heights with the release of their latest project, Kill Yourself XVI-XX series.
A total of five three-song EPs, they're void of collabos but do feature many of $lick and Ruby's alter egos. Kill Yourself XVI-XX will hold fans over until $uicideboy$ unveil their debut album, I Don't Want to Die in New Orleans, which is set to drop at the end of the year.
"It's that motherfucking anti-Christ born through immaculate conception/Perspective or perception, sick and tired, here's a lesson/Fuck your god, I'm your god, I'm your false idol/Burned your bible, killed your fucking archangel St. Michael/It's that devil in disguise, bitch, everybody dies, bitch/Electric chair to fry, switch, say goodbye then blow a kiss" - Yung Christ

For ODESZA, goodbye means new beginnings. Five years after releasing their GRAMMY-nominated album, A Moment Apart, the Seattle-based electronic duo is staging a comeback in 2022 with their fourth studio LP, The Last Goodbye. The album, ODESZA said in a statement, is inspired by their friends and family's impact on them: "We found comfort in the fact that those who we love stay with us, that they become intrinsically part of us, in a way." On Last Goodbye, ODESZA take a deeper exploration of 4/4 rhythms, threading a collection of driving beats coated in soul-piercing vocals and rousing instrumentation that evokes at once nostalgia, melancholy and euphoria.
If anybody doubts the unbelievable adaptability and malleability of rap today, just look at who's in $uicideboy$' orbit. In years past, they've collaborated with everyone from Travis Barker to members of Korn. On their upcoming Grey Day Tour, they'll be supported by bleeding-edge acts ranging from hardcore heroes Knocked Loose to genre-dismantling crushers Code Orange to SoundCloud-adjacent rapper Ski Mask the Slump God. 041b061a72
